Chabad on Campus - Jewish St. Louis Students Organizations
Chabad on Campus is one of the mainstays of Jewish life at Washington University. As a home away from home, it offers lively Shabbat meals, Torah classes, and one-on-one study sessions in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Chabad serves Jewish students in St. Louis, with innovative programs to campus in the warm welcoming spirit of Chabad, where all feel right at home regardless of background or level of observance. Rabbi Novack is also available day and night for counseling in personal, religious and philosophical matters to all members of the campus communities.

Jewish Funeral and Mourning Customs
Judaism, just like other religions, does have many laws and customs regarding funerals and mourning.

Jewish Mourning
Judaism, specifies seven immediate family members who are expected to directly observe the mourning period: the mother and father, son and daughter, brother and sister, (including half-brother and half-sister), and husband and wife.

Jewish Wedding
Marriage is a holy institution in Judaism. Its very name in Hebrew, "kiddushin," means "sanctification." Most of the laws and customs relating to the wedding ceremony (Chatunah), its preparations and Seudat Mitzvah (festive reception meal) date back to our Patriarchs and the giving of the Torah at Sinai.
